Vincenza (Jenny) Maria (Ierna) Fazzino

Vincenza (Jenny) Maria (Ierna) Fazzino, 90, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Salvatore Fazzino, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Vincenza was born on May 18, 1934, in Melilli, Sicily, Italy to Luigi and Sebastiana Ierna.

Vincenza was educated as a primary school teacher before she left her homeland of Sicily to immigrate to Connecticut, where she raised her family. She was an excellent cook and loved to prepare special meals for friends, family, and for holiday gatherings. She expressed her appreciation for everyone whose life touched hers with her culinary skills. Vincenza was known for her sewing and beautiful handwork embroidery. She was very proud of her Italian ethnicity and cherished customs. Every Sunday was a day to gather together as a family over feast and fellowship. Vincenza was a devout Catholic who always attended Mass at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Huntington.

She leaves behind three adoring children, Mary Ann (Fazzino) Joram, Paul L. Fazzino, and Louis S. Fazzino, son-in-law Harry Joram, daughter-in-law Lisa Fazzino, four cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Joram) Lombard and her husband Keith Lombard Jr., Gregory Joram, Vincenzo P. Fazzino and Isabella Fazzino, and great-grand-daughter Olivia Lombard. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Concetta (Tita) Marchica (Agrigento, Sicily) and Giuseppa (Pipa) Mennillo (Amalfi, Italy) and three brothers, Paolo Ierna, Francesco (Ciccio) Ierna and Sebastiano Ierna (Italy).

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Her funeral will begin in the parlor at 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
