Ansonia Mayor James Della Volpe will be sworn in for his seventh term, along with other elected city officials, at a ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 1.
The swearing in ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. at Ansonia City Hall in the aldermanic chambers on the second floor.
Refreshments immediately following at Millie’s II, at 242 Main Street in Ansonia.

Update: The unofficial results from the Ansonia registrar’s office have been added to the end of this story.
Ansonia Republicans picked up four seats on the Board of Aldermen in Tuesday’s election.
Republicans Philip Tripp and Charles Stowe took both seats in the Second Ward, Joan Radin took one seat in the Fifth Ward, and John P. Marini took one seat in the Seventh.
Democrats continue to hold the vast majority of seats on the Board of Aldermen, with 10 Democrats elected to the board Tuesday. Mayor James T. Della Volpe, a Democrat, also won re-election in an uncontested race.

Ansonia Democrats Wednesday nominated Mayor James Della Volpe to run for an unprecedented seventh term in office.
In a short speech, Della Volpe accepted the nomination and thanked his supporters.
“You all know who I am, and what we are doing together to make Ansonia a more prosperous city,” Della Volpe said.
