Paul Russell, age 64, of Ansonia, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport on November 7, 1961, to his mother, Joy Luciano, and the late Paul John Russell. Paul was a self-employed carpenter for many years and took pride in hands-on construction projects.
Paul loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing, nature walks, scenic drives, sunsets, waterfalls, camping, and time near the water. A man of many talents and interests, he was also a gifted artist who enjoyed cooking, playing pool, bowling, throwing axes, recreational shooting, and spending time with animals. Above all, he cherished time with his children and grandchildren.
He was the beloved father of Ryan Rich, Paul Russell Jr., Rachel Russell, Tiffany Russell, and Raymond Russell, and is also survived by grandchildren; his sisters Paula Salamanca, Donna Andrulat, and Debbie Meneo; his brothers William Luciano, Robert Russell, and Harry Russell; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John Russell.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. On Thursday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St., Derby for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
