SEYMOUR — The Seymour Police Department responded to 315 calls between April 19 and April 26 and made 11 arrests.
Here are some of the calls and arrests.
Sunday, April 19
1:20 a.m. — A patrol officer reported that a gray Corvette did not stop for officers attempting to pull the car over. The vehicle was last seen on Bungay Road heading toward West Church Street.
12:24 p.m. — Police received a 911 call from Summit Drive but the caller hung up. Police determined it was an accident.
3:58 p.m. — Officers checked vehicles for proper registration and insurance on New Haven Road.
5:15 p.m. — Brandon Corey Leach, 41, of New Haven, was charged on New Haven Road with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. A court date is slated for May 4.
6:30 p.m. — A caller reported he had rolled his truck over on Fountain Lake Road. No injuries were reported. Police, fire and EMS were sent to the crash.
Monday, April 20
1:03 a.m. — Police received a report of suspicious activity on Roosevelt Drive. Police responded and found two people parked in a vehicle on the Lake House restaurant property. The people had pulled over on their way to Stamford and said they would move along.
7:48 a.m. — Police set up on Mountain Road to watch for speeding vehicles.
7:49 a.m. — A caller reported a man hitchhiking in the area of Steep Hill and Davis roads. The caller was worried because of children waiting at bus stops. Patrol responded and determined the hitchhiker’s vehicle ran out of gas and that he lived in the neighborhood.
8:15 a.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail in the area of Bungay Road and Greenwood Circle. There were no tickets issued after about 15 minutes.
9:19 a.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Holbrook Road. No tickets were issued after about 15 minutes.
5:00 p.m. — A person reported three of his vehicle’s tires were slashed on Squantuck Road.
Tuesday, April 21
2:49 a.m. — A caller from Roosevelt Drive reported he returned home from vacation but could not get into his apartment. A property manager refused to help, according to the caller. Police said an electronic key system was malfunctioning. The caller said he would get a hotel room and follow up with the management.
7:28 a.m. — A caller reported her ex partner broke into her home and ran away when she said she was calling police. The incident is under investigation.
10:02 a.m. — A caller reported that a dump truck clipped wires on Bungay Road and that the wires were hanging low as a result. Police determined the wires were property of the cable company and did not pose a threat to safety.
4:44 p.m. — A two-vehicle crash with an injury was reported in the area of Derby Avenue and Cedar Street.
Wednesday, April 22
5:37 a.m. — A one-car motor vehicle crash with injuries was reported at Silvermine Road and Progress Avenue. An EMS crew was sent to the scene.
9:09 a.m. — Several callers told police an elderly woman who appeared confused was walking in the area of Pearl and Pond streets. The woman’s son arrived and said she her dementia had progressed and that he would take her to the hospital to get checked.
8:19 p.m. A caller from Bungay Road reported that a truck with a trailer attached had dropped items from the trailer all over the road.
9:24 p.m. — Police received a report of a medical emergency on Reservoir Manor. EMS was sent to help.
Thursday, April 23
7:39 a.m. — A caller requested assistance after her vehicle broke down on Bungay Road. A tow truck was sent to help.
8:55 a.m. — A caller reported a car crash on Progress Avenue.
9:22 a.m. — A caller reported low-hanging wires on Bungay Road. Frontier, the telecommunications company, was notified.
11:54 a.m. — A caller from Walnut Street reported a neighbor was yelling for help. Police responded and talked to the neighbor, who said he was watching the TV show “SVU.”
1:42 p.m. — An employee from Stop & Shop on Franklin Street reported that en elderly customer was being scammed. The customer was buying several gift cards for a boyfriend in Syria. Police and the store manager explained to the woman what was happening. She said she would cease contacting the scammer.
5:34 p.m. — A caller from Maple Street reported an elderly woman sitting on the caller’s front porch appeared confused. A family member was located and said the woman is in the early stages of dementia. She was taken home by the relative.
9:26 p.m. — A caller reported a two-car crash in front of Alberto’s, an Italian restaurant in Tri-Town Plaza at 814 Derby Ave. The responding officers said the driver of a BMW was unconscious. Narcan, a drug to save people who have overdosed, was administered. Mariano Payle St. Pierre, 32, of Waterbury, was charged with operating under the influence. He is due in court May 7.
Friday, April 24
8:06 a.m. — A caller told police he was being followed by another driver as part of a ‘road rage’ incident. The caller filed a report with police.
10:51 a.m. — A minor car accident was reported on Main Street.
1:17 p.m. — A two-car crash was reported in the area of Maple and Pearl streets.
5:13 p.m. — A caller reported striking a loose manhole cover on Derby Avenue and damaging his tire. Seymour Department of Public Works was notified.
10:05 p.m. — A caller said a man wearing an orange ski mask approached him and his son and asked for a ride. Patrol said the person was gone upon their arrival.
Saturday, April 25
1:54 a.m. — A caller reported her boyfriend violated a protective order. The 18-year-old boyfriend, of Bridgeport, was found in the McDonald’s parking lot and charged with violating a protective order, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct.
2:14 a.m. — A caller from Main Street said she wanted her nephew removed from the location.
4:04 a.m. — An Uber driver turned in a phone to Shelton police that had been left in his vehicle. Shelton police contacted Seymour police after learning the phone belonged to a Seymour resident.
7:27 a.m. — Callers reported an explosion followed by a power failure in the area of New Haven Road and North Street. It turns out a squirrel was electrocuted after coming into contact with Eversource equipment.
4:25 p.m. — Police received an accidental 911 call from a child on Sachem Road.
Sunday, April 26
1:13 a.m. — A caller reported two women screaming at each other on Pearl Street.
3:05 a.m. — Daniel G. Rapuano, 41, of Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence on New Haven Road. He is due in court May 6.
2:00 p.m. — A caller reported a suspicious vehicle traveling on Bunting Road near Eleanor Drive. A person appeared to be hunched over in the passenger’s seat. A patrol officer located the vehicle and reported a dog was in the passenger’s seat.
