SHELTON – A city resident who was part of a trio that broke into a residence in Milford to beat and rob a man accepted a plea bargain Thursday in Superior Court.
The deal calls for the defendant, Theodore Jordan, to serve 15 years in prison.
However, the sentence is suspended after five years, followed by five years probation. If he were to get into trouble again while on probation, he could be jailed to complete what’s left of the 15 years.
Jordan and two other men – Shane Gordon and Jahsim Trotman – posed as Amazon deliverymen in January 2022 and forced their way into the victim’s residence, pistol whipped him, and tied him up. The crew then robbed the man of cash and jewelry, which was pawned in New York City.
Jordan, according to statements made in Superior Court in Milford July 23, was the getaway driver, in addition to entering the victim’s residence.
Jordan testified against Gordon during Gordon’s trial, which got him the plea deal. Gordon was found guilty in May, but disappeared before the jury’s decision. He is now a wanted man.
Trotman is serving a 15-year prison sentence.
Jordan is scheduled to be formally sentenced Sept. 16.
Jordan was tied to the crime through cell phone location data and items, including clothing, that were found in his Shelton residence through a search warrant. He was arrested in Georgia in 2022 and then brought back to Connecticut.
As part of the the agreement, he pleaded guilty July 23 to conspiracy to commit burglary and robbery.
