SEYMOUR – Police charged a 32-year-old New Haven man with robbery by carjacking and second-degree breach of peace July 12.
The suspect, Emanuel Matos, is free on a $10,000 bond pending a Sept. 12 appearance in Superior Court in Derby.
According to Seymour Police Chief John Bucherati, the incident happened about 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a Bank Street fast food restaurant. Matos “forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle she was driving,” the chief said.
The victim, who is known to Matos, was left in the parking lot while Matos allegedly took off in the vehicle.
The victim then called police to file a complaint.
