Conroy To Seek Re-Election In The 105th

State Rep. Theresa Conroy announced her intention Saturday to seek the Democratic nomination for re-election to represent the 105th Legislative District in the Connecticut House of Representatives.

Conroy currently serves residents of Seymour, Beacon Falls and Derby in the General Assembly.

I believe government must work for all citizens. I’m proud to stand up for each resident in Seymour, Beacon Falls and Derby on state related issues,” Conroy said.

Conroy said she remains committed to pursuing policies that aid seniors and expand their options to age at home.

She has led efforts to develop livable communities. In January, she hosted a forum in Seymour on making communities livable for all residents.

As a result of this forum, Seymour has put in place a committee to begin addressing issues related to livable communities.

Her passions include veteran affairs, healthcare issues, education and a genuine concern for her constituents.

Conroy describes the 105th District as a hidden gem” and a region of incredible resource and vitality.

Our area has a strong infrastructure in place. The state has implemented several programs for small business owners that will assist them in expanding their business right here.,” she said.

Through her efforts, Conroy has worked to open Cold Spring Road in Beacon Falls and is working to increase safety on Route 34 in Derby and Seymour by placing rumble strips on the road surface.

I am steadfastly committed to my neighbors in the 105th district,” Conroy said. I put my heart and soul into representing each resident. As people reach out to me with their concerns, I find it an honor to be able to help them with their issues.”

Conroy is a strong advocate for serviceman and women and their families. She remains committed to Connecticut’s veterans.

She worked as a nurse for 28 years at the West Haven VA Medical Center.

She holds a master’s degree from Fairfield University’s Family Nurse Practitioner Program, a bachelor’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University and an Associate’s degree in nursing from Quinnipiac University.

She is currently an advanced practice nurse for the CVS Minute Clinic.

Conroy will take part in the Citizen’s Election Program.

By funding my campaign through the CEP, it is supported by the people in the district and not special interests or lobbyists,” she said.
