The Independent Party of Connecticut unanimously endorsed Republican George Logan’s candidacy for state senate in the 17th District, which encompasses Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck, and Woodbridge.
With the endorsement announced yesterday, Logan will now appear on both the Republican and Independent ballot lines this November.
“I am honored to receive the support of the Independent Party this November,” said Logan. “For the past twenty plus years, the residents of the 17th District have had only one voice in Hartford, a voice that continually votes against businesses, middle-class families and people that need it the most. Independent voters understand that new leadership and a new direction needs to be taken in the state of Connecticut.
“My campaign has been focused on the real issues impacting the 17th District and the state of Connecticut. I have found, from door-knocking and attending events throughout the district, that residents want a new voice in Hartford, someone that sticks to their principals but is able to keep an independent voice. I will provide the independent voice that people are craving and lead Connecticut in a new direction.”
The Independent Party is the third largest political party in Connecticut and provides residents with an alternative political organization.
