The Service Employees International Union is pleased to announce that it has endorsed Kara Rochelle for State Representative in the 104th House District.

SEIU is focused on organizing workers in three sectors: health care (over half of members work in the healthcare field), including hospital, home care and nursing home workers; public services (local and state government employees); and property services (including janitors, security officers and food service workers).

Kara Rochelle will fight for her constituents and working families throughout the state. She is a hard working and committed candidate who will be a strong advocate in Hartford for jobs, opportunity, and fairness” said Rick Melita, Director of the SEIU Connecticut State Council.

I stand with our hard working people who put in an honest week’s work and deserve fair compensation, reasonable hours and benefits, and safe working conditions. The middle class is built by labor, and I stand with everyone working to build that better life for themselves and their families. I’m honored to be endorsed by the members of SEIU, and will fight for working class values, reminding Hartford that we are here to rebuild a vibrant middle class in CT,” said Kara.

To date Rochelle has also received endorsements from Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, State Representative Linda Gentile, Connecticut’s Working Families Party, AFT AFSCME, CWA and the Connecticut AFL-CIO.
