Seymour Resident Endorses Theresa Conroy

Theresa Conroy vs Nicole Klarides-Ditria.

What is in a name?

Good? Bad? Experience? Bluster?

The Republican candidate, Nicole Klarides-Ditria, running for state representative, seems to fit the bad and bluster categories. Let’s take a look and see how that describes her and her political history and accomplishments.

She promotes her family name Klarides known locally for mercantilism, and Ditria, a local police officer.

Whereas both of these names might be familiar to some Seymour residents, let’s see what her personal record as an individual has been to warrant consideration for her election to state office.

She has served on the Seymour Board of Selectmen and has voted regularly for local tax increases, all the while claiming that her opponent has voted for increased state taxation and helped ruin the economy.

She has never proposed nor forwarded any original local legislation to improve the quality of life issues for Seymour residents nor ways to minimize tax burdens on them. Her votes were party line as usual.

She derides her opponent as being a party loyal but does not include herself as equally party loyal. Deceptive? Perhaps it is simply a ruse to deflect her own history as disingenuous.

She has NEVER served in any capacity to service Derby, Seymour and Beacon Falls district-wide collective initiatives. The record is clear on this.

She is not, nor has she ever been, an agent of the people of Derby & Beacon Falls for whom she would represent. Her motive is none other than self-aggrandizement.

Theresa Conroy, the Democrat candidate, has a repeated history of serving ALL the valley towns and delivering results which have improved the quality of life for many, particularly in health and veteran affairs. These accomplishments are an undeniable matter of record no matter how hard the Republican opponent attempts to minimize or besmirch them.

Theresa Conroy has fought for and supported successful legislation that brought long-term benefits to our local communities, to Griffin Hospital and to our veterans. Can Klarides-Ditria say the same? The answer is a resounding NO

She promises better results, but how? Her individual local track record falls far short of results.

What the valley needs is continued positive results that Theresa Conroy has worked for, delivered and would continue to deliver. The Republican candidate offers what, a maybe?

Klarides-Ditria offers only copper coins in a high stakes race.

Valley voters will ultimately decide in the next few weeks between proven accomplishments and a false prophet. I hope their choice is Theresa Conroy, the proven deliverer of results.
