The City of Derby and ex-finance director Henry Domurad, Jr. have reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount of money, attorneys said Monday.
Derby Corporation Counsel Joseph Coppola said the settlement will be added to the agenda of the Derby Board of Aldermen, who are scheduled to meet Thursday (May 21).
The settlement will not see Domurad reinstated as finance director, the position he held from 2008 until April. He filed a lawsuit earlier this month, claiming he was wrongfully terminated.

A lawyer said Henry Domurad did not resign as Derby’s finance director — and the resignation letter released by Derby City Hall is fake.
“Every word in that instrument, and his signature, were falsely written,” said Domurad’s attorney, John M. Gesmonde.
Derby Mayor Anthony Staffieri flatly denied the accusations Monday.
“That’s a total lie, and if I have to, I will hire a letter forensic expert and have it analyzed,” Staffieri said.

Henry Domurad, Jr., Derby’s finance director since 2008, resigned from the position, according to the Derby Mayor’s Office.
The resignation was abrupt and surprised workers at City Hall, several of whom said Domurad was well-liked and easy to work with.
Domurad’s last day was apparently Thursday, but the Valley Indy could not get Derby officials to confirm that detail.
