Griffin Hospital was recent recipient of an award by the NAACP, Ansonia Branch #2000. Valley NAACP President Greg Johnson presented the award to Griffin CEO and President Patrick Charmel during the organization’s 22nd Annual Freedom Fund Dinner in October.

Victims and survivors of domestic violence from across the state were honored at The Umbrella’s annual candlelight vigil at Kellogg Environmental Center Tuesday.

The Umbrella (a program of Birmingham Group Health Services, Inc.) recently received a $20,000 grant from the Katharine Matthies Foundation (Bank of America, Trustee), to support a child advocate position at the program.
