Seymour Middle School students Reagan Kalish and Ashley White recently raised money to help a local family whose house was badly damaged by fire.
“The Fight After The Flames” quickly gathered monetary donations and items.
The girls worked closely with the assistant principal at the time, Ernie DiStasi, and the head of security, Mr. Richard Kearns, to get the victims of these fires the essentials they need.

Jerren Farrison, a student at the Chatfield Lopresti School in Seymour, recently collected 100 winter coats with the help of his school community.
The coats were donated to the Connecticut Partnership for Children, a nonprofit group in Naugatuck that supports low-income children throughout the state.
