Lauretti Declares Snow Emergency, Encourages Off-Street Parkin ‘If Available’ In Shelton

Shelton Police announced Monday (Jan. 26) morning that Mayor Mark Lauretti has declared a snow emergency” due to the impending snowstorm.

The City encourages off street parking if available, otherwise from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., alternate side of the street parking is required,” an announcement on the city’s website said. That means on odd-numbered days, parking shall be permitted on the odd-numbered side of the street; on even-numbered days, parking shall be permitted on the even-numbered side of the street.”

Malloy Announces Travel Ban In Anticipation Of Blizzard

Gov. Dannel Malloy announced a statewide travel ban starting at 9 p.m. Monday (Jan. 26) in anticipation of the largest winter storm we’ve seen since the blizzard of 2013.”

The governor said people should make preparations to get home safely by Monday evening and then stay put — for awhile.
