SHELTON — Gov. Ned Lamont announced a special election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 in Shelton to fill the vacated state House District 113 seat.
The seat was most recently held by Jason Perillo, who was just elected to the state Senate.
Lamont made the election announcement in a press release Friday, March 7.
“Under state law, the governor is required to issue a writ of special election within ten days of a seat in the General Assembly becoming vacant, and a special election must be held 46 days after the writ is issued. Governor Lamont issued the writ today,” according to a statement from the governor’s office.
For many years The Valley Indy relied on Facebook and Twitter to get our stories to the public.
For reasons far above our pay grade, Facebook and Twitter are far less effective these days. Those sites seem to want users to stay on those sites, instead of coming to tiny sites like ours to get local news and info.
So we’ve decided to launch a once-a-week Friday newsletter where we will recap stories and posts from ValleyIndy.org. The newsletter could be sent more than once a week if there’s breaking news happening.
Stay in the local loop by putting your email in the form below.
Remember: we promise not to do anything weird with your email. We just want to share our reporting.
