Alberto’s Restaurant and Pizzeria in the Tri-Town Plaza will be raising money for the people affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.
The family-owned pizzeria will donate their profits Sunday to a memorial fund set up to help the families of the victims. It includes eat-in and to-go orders.
A portion of the proceeds from orders taken between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23 will go to the fund, said Alberto Zuncja, whose family has owned the restaurant since 1996.
“Employees are also planning to make donations, too,” Zuncja told the Valley Indy Tuesday.
The restaurant’s phone number is 203 – 736-6105. Tri-Town Plaza is at 814 Derby Ave. in Seymour.
Zuncja is a Seymour resident. He lived previously in Shelton.
“We just want to show the families and the victims that we all care about them,” Zuncja said. “We wanted to involve our community as well — all of our customers, family and friends. Even if you come and spend five dollars, we’ll send something to support Newtown.”
Zuncja said he plans to deposit a donation Monday at Newtown Savings Bank, which has two locations in Shelton.
