The following was sent by AnSeOx Rotary:
Students residing in the Towns of Ansonia, Seymour and Oxford were asked to write an essay utilizing the motto of Rotary International — “SERVICE ABOVE SELF” — each applicant was asked to submit a 500-word essay that addresses this theme. The essay needed to reflect its personal meaning to each student, relating it to personal experience and articulate the importance of service in life and community, state or throughout the world.
And the winners are:
Julia Pinto — Ansonia High School — attending Monmouth University Fall 2024
Zachary Ort — Oxford High School – attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Fall 2024
Devin Cronin – Seymour resident – continuing UCONN Fall 2024
Students are invited to attend a future AnSeOx Rotary meeting to share their essay and talk about their future endeavors with club members.
