The Ansonia Board of Apportionment and Taxation will host a public hearing at 7 tonight on the city’s proposed $57.07 million budget for 2010-11.
The public hearing has been relocated to Ansonia High School.
The public will get a chance to weigh in on the proposal during the hearing.
The budget proposal represents a zero percent increase in taxes over the current year, with a mill rate proposed at 25.25.
For a while, it seemed the taxes would go up. The Board of Aldermen had originally proposed an 8.4 percent tax rate increase, but at a budget workshop last week, the tax board whittled that spending plan back.
The proposal now is a tentative budget, and the final figures could change between now and May 17 when the Board of Apportionment and Taxation is scheduled to finalize the budget.
