Mayor James Della Volpe issued a message Wednesday, Feb. 13 updating residents on recovery efforts in the wake of the Blizzard of 2013.
Among the highlights — parking ban still in effect, no school until Tuesday, Feb. 19 and some roads will be closed so the city can clear snow mounds.
Here is the full text of Della Volpe’s message:
This is a Mayor James Della Volpe with a Code Red alert from the City of Ansonia.
The city crews and private contractors are making headway with the efforts to clean and widen the city roadways.
We will be temporarily closing some roads while the crews remove the large snow piles.
These will only be temporary closures and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
The parking ban on all city streets is still in effect.
Residents are reminded that no vehicle may be parked on a city street during this time.
The parking ban in the downtown business district will be lifted at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14.
City Hall and the Library will reopen on Thursday, February 14, however the Senior Center will remain closed.
All schools will be closed on Thursday, February 14. The schools will reopen on Tuesday, February 19.
