Ansonia police arrested two Church Street residents Tuesday after an early morning raid of their home allegedly revealed weapons and drugs there.
According to a prepared statement from Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota, members of the police department’s Anti-Crime Unit and Detective Division served a search and seizure warrant at 36 Church St. about 6 a.m. Tuesday.
“This warrant was in relation to an ongoing narcotics investigation,” Cota’s statement said. “A small caliber handgun (.22 caliber), ammunition, and a quantity of cocaine as well as a stun gun and other narcotic pills were seized.”
Arrested were Omar Lloyd, 40, and Luanne Pellechio, 44, both of 36 Church St.
Both faces charges of three counts of possession of narcotics, three counts of possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, and single counts of illegal possession of a prescription drug, illegal possession of prescription drug within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school.
Lloyd was charged additionally with criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of an electronic defense weapon.
Lloyd and Pellechio were held on bonds of $100,000 and $50,000, respectively, and are expected to be arraigned in the case Wednesday (Oct. 2) at Superior Court in Derby.
