Ansonia Police Chase Driver Into Woodbridge

A New Haven man was arrested April 1 after allegedly leading Ansonia police on a chase into Woodbridge.

Brian Seilema, 22, is charged with reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit, operating a vehicle while under suspension and failing to have insurance, according to Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota.

According to police, officers received a report of suspicious activity in the area of Platt Street, then spotted Seilema’s in the hilltop section of Ansonia.

Police attempted to stop his vehicle, but he drove into Woodbridge.

The vehicle was driving recklessly and we called off the pursuit,” Cota wrote in an email.

However, Seilema then wrecked in Woodbridge and ran into the woods.

Ansonia officers eventually got him into custody. Woodbridge police were on the scene as well.

No injuries were reported.

Updated court info wasn’t available April 6.
