Ms. Cegelka matriculates this month to the University of Rhode Island to study pharmaceutical science.
The Ansonia Club presented the $1,500 award to her and her mother recently at the Club’s weekly lunch meeting at Antonio’s Restaurant.
Jessica is a 2014 graduate of Ansonia High School, where she ranked ninth in her class academically.
She was a CAPT scholar, and a member of the cheerleading squad and band.
In addition to her student activities, Jessica volunteered at Holy Rosary Church.
The Club is seeking new members; interested parties should contact Robert Rose at Ion Bank.
