Sewer fees could go up 60 cents per 100 cubic feet of water usage next year.
The Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on the proposed increase at 7 p.m. tonight in the Erlingheuser Room at city hall. The authority currently charges $2.65 per 100 cubic feet of water use, plus a $50 surcharge feet. The proposed rate is $3.25, plus the same $50 fee.
The proposal would also set the rate for residents not connected to city water at $275 per family unit, plus the $50 surcharge fee.
The fee increase is not associated with the $52 million upgrade to the city’s waste water treatment plant.
The bills will be due Sept. 1, 2009. Payments can be made to the Ansonia WPCA at city hall at 253 Main St., or by mail to Ansonia WPCA, P.O. Box 178, Ansonia CT 06401.
