SEYMOUR — Note: a reader sent a message saying she received an email from Aquarion saying this project was pushed to Aug. 26. The Valley Indy reached out to Aquarion Saturday morning (Aug. 17) to confirm. The press release below was sent on Aug. 15.
Aquarion Water Company announced a water main cleaning project in Seymour. The project, scheduled to start on August 19 and run for six weeks, will ensure customers in Seymour continue to receive the highest quality water.
The cleaning schedule for the first week of the project (August 19 – 23) will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the following streets:
Bellevue Ter, Bryan Cir, Chamberlain Rd, Cogwheel Lane, Colony Rd, Glenbrook Dr, Halsey St, Hickory Lane, Hickory Lane Ext, Jay Lane, Maple St, Moss Ave, Oakwood Dr, Omar St, Oriole Lane, Patton Ave, Pheasant Dr, Progress Ave, Robin Rd, Silvermine Rd, Summer Hill Rd, Warren Dr, Wild Duck Rd, Woodcrest Rd, and Wycliff Ter.
During water main cleaning, customers may notice temporary low pressure or discoloration in their water. This discoloration results from the temporary disturbance of the water flow, which stirs up naturally occurring minerals that settle in water mains.
Aquarion recommends that customers store water in their refrigerators for drinking and cooking. If the water is discolored, customers should refrain from washing laundry. Before resuming use, customers should run their cold-water faucets until the water appears clear.
