A movement is underway to publish a book which will memorialize the life of Ed Strang.
Ed Strang dedicated his life to the youth of the lower Naugatuck valley. He was born in 1910 and died in 1995. He was a World War II veteran, Scoutmaster of Troop 3, Cubmaster of Pack 3 and adviser to Explorer Post 33 (now Venture Group 33).
Ed taught Sunday school, was an incorporator of the Derby Little League, coached the Laurels Little League baseball team, Rotary Club member and executive member of the Housatonic Council BSA, Derby Ct. He was the customer service manager of the United Illuminating Company office in Derby, formerly the Housatonic Public Service Co.,and the Derby Gas and Electric Company. In these capacities he has received recognition and awards and is much loved and respected by many whose lives he has touched.
