The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced today that Martin DeSomma also known as Dr. Bugman, will present a program for children and adults at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18 at Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby, Connecticut.
Dr. Bugman will bring 14 different live creatures and will present a program on reptiles, amphibians, insects and arachnids.
Dr. Bugman provides a hands-on learning experience like no other by using a variety of exotic bugs, reptiles, and amphibians. Most of the animals can be handled except for the ones that could give a bad bite…..like the black widow. Dr. Bugman tries to get volunteers to let Hissing roaches, Trinidad roaches and walking sticks crawl around on their shirts.
Dr. Bugman has been a volunteer at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport since 1996, helping to educate visitors and give them greater understanding on the significance of other earthly creatures.
Dr. Bugman is a 1981 Cum Laude graduate of the University of Connecticut with a BS Degree with Distinction in Pathobiology (animal diseases). He is also a 1985 Cum Laude graduate of National College of Health Sciences, Degree of Chiropractic.A donation of $4.00 per adult and $2 per student/child will be accepted.
