Derby-Ansonia Softball Game Raises $2,500 For Griffin’s Hewitt Center For Breast Wellness

DERBY — The Derby High School softball team recently presented Griffin Hospital President and CEO Patrick Charmel with a donation of $2,500 to The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital.

The funds were raised at the 8th Annual Derby-Ansonia Pink Softball Game held in May. Organized by long-time Griffin Hospital employee and Derby High School Softball Coach Joe DiMartino, the fundraiser is held in honor of his wife, Lori, a breast cancer survivor. Overall, the annual event has raised a total of more than $25,000 to help breast cancer patients in the greater Valley community.
