Derby Fire Company To Deliver Gifts On Popcorn Ball Sunday

DERBY — Popcorn Sunday’ is usually the Sunday before Christmas in Ansonia and Derby. That is Dec. 22 this year.

Firefighters in Ansonia and Derby usually start in the morning. It’s unpredictable, and they have to stop and respond to calls if they arrive.

Listen for the sirens, and watch your friendly neighborhood Facebook community page to stalk.

Please keep in mind firefighters are volunteers, not event planners or public employees. They might not hit every street in your community.

East End Hose Co. No. 3 on Derby-Milford Road is continuing its tradition of delivering gifts to local Derby kids. The deliveries are scheduled to start 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

If you live in Derby and you want to participate, wrap a present and drop it off at the fire department.
