Derby Legislators To Consider Kopjanski For Planning And Zoning Commission

I was just checking out the agenda for Thursday’s Derby Board of Aldermen/Alderwomen agenda, because that’s what I do at 10 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Mayor Dziekan is recommending the Aldermen/Alderwomen appoint David Kopjanski, the city’s former building official, to the city’s planning and zoning commission.

He’s replacing David Rogers, according to the agenda.

Kopjanski was the building inspector for 18 years, and a city employee for almost 30 years before the Staffieri administration parted ways with him in 2013.

Most recently Kopjanski wrote a letter explaining his opposition to changes being proposed at The Hops Co., a popular beer garden and wedding venue in east Derby.

CORRECTION: Kopjanski said March 26 it was a sworn statement pertaining to the previous use of the property,
