
DERBY — A man was taken to Bridgeport Hospital after allegedly stabbing himself Monday (Dec. 28).
Police received a report of a man walking along Francis Street (off Hawkins Street) with multiple stab wounds to his torso at about 8 a.m.
Police said the person gave them conflicting stories about what happened to him. Officers also asked people in the area for information.
“Preliminary evidence suggests the wounds were self-inflicted,” police said in a statement posted to Facebook.
The man, whose name was not released, was in stable condition as of Monday morning.
