This is Munchkin aka Katniss, a 1.5 year old pit mix female who was one of the dogs from the now-closed Derby Animal Shelter.
She has been living in a shelter for 9 months now … way too long for any dog.
She had a litter of puppies in January and they have all found homes except for Munchkin.
She is a fantastic dog, loves belly rubs, thinks she is a toy breed (she will get right on your lap and lick your face like crazy), she is not food, toy or treat aggressive.
She does ok with cats and with mellow dogs, both male and female.
She will not do well with hyper dogs. I can honestly say from personal experience with her, she is a great dog and would make a great pet for any family.
Munchkin is on DEATH ROW now at the Woodbridge Animal Shelter.
She has been marked SUPER URGENT which means the shelter will make arrangements for euthanasia next week.
(UPDATE: The dog won’t be destroyed next week. She has been marked SUPER URGENT which means the shelter can make arrangements for euthanasia in the future.)
