Poncho leads Storms’ David Lenart while searching for a missing boy Wednesday night.

A search and rescue dog from Storm Ambulance Corps helped crews find an 11-year-old boy Wednesday night.

The boy had ran away from his parents, according to a post on Facebook from the Storm Engine K9 Division.

The dog, Poncho, began tracking, and emergency responders set up a perimeter.

The search started in the woods along the on-ramp to Route 8 next to ShopRite, and expanded to all of Pershing Drive, parts of Division Street and the Derby river walk.

The boy was found in the precise direction Poncho was tracking, according to the Facebook post. The boy was not injured.

He was found within the Tracy’s Service Station & Garage property off Water Street.
