The Valley Indy reached out to the Regional Water Authority Wednesday to ask whether the company still planned to seek approvals from the Derby Planning and Zoning Commission for a 2 million water storage tank atop Telescope Mountain at the top of Summit Street.
The proposal was met with stiff opposition from the surrounding neighborhood during a public hearing earlier this month. Click here to read a previous story.
The Valley Indy reported Tuesday that the state’s archeologist’s office is also reviewing the proposal. Click here for that story.
Tom Barger, a Regional Water Authority spokesman, answered the Valley Indy’s inquiry:
“We are discussing various options and no decisions have been made,” Barger said Wednesday afternoon.
If an applicant decides to abandon a given project, the applicant usually sends a letter to the Planning and Zoning Commission, which would be on file in Derby City Hall.
David Kopjanski, the city’s building official, said Wednesday morning no such letter had been received.
