Drop Off "Treats For Troops" At Ansonia City Hall

The Gordon-Visselli American Legion Post 50 of Ansonia in partnership with Mayor Cassetti is once again accepting undistributed Halloween candy that will be sent to the VA Hospital in West Haven to be enjoyed by veterans there. Put a smile on the face of a veteran rather than an inch on your waistline by removing the temptation from your house.

Bring your sweet treats down to the Mayor’s office and they will be hand delivered to the VA by Post 50 Chaplain, Tom Henri, a Veterans Administration employee. The treats are well appreciated and go fast.

Drop-offs should be between 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 to 12:30 p.m. on Friday at Ansonia City Hall on Main Street. Donations will be accepted up to Friday, Nov. 8.

For information on joining the Ansonia American Legion, contact Commander Mike Heise at 203 – 308‑7845. Post 50 meets the first Thursday night of each month at 7:00 at the Ansonia Armory. All Veterans are welcome. Eligible service dates have recently been revised so that more veterans can participate and benefit from membership.
