DERBY — Walsh Fence of Orange will begin replacing fencing along the Derby Greenway trail starting Wednesday (Oct. 2), according to city officials.

The removal of old fencing and the installation of new fencing will begin at the Route 34 bridge, next to the Route 8 ramp, then proceed north to Division Street.

Several hundred feet will be replaced per day.

While replacement is taking place the section being worked on will be closed to all pedestrian traffic,” according to an email sent to Derby City Hall from Ed Armeno, the Derby Public Works director.

Questions about the project should be directed to the public works department. The phone number is 203 – 736-1468.

The project costs $126,000. The Derby Greenway is about 2 miles long.
