Firewood Available, What To Do With Storm Debris

Firewood is available for Shelton residents at the dog park on the corner of Nells Rock Road and Shelton Avenue for residents’ use.

The compost site next to Elizabeth Shelton School is accepting, from RESIDENTS ONLY, leaves, tree limbs and brush debris resulting from Storm Sandy.

The hours are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon, through Dec. 8.

Storm debris from private property can also be brought by RESIDENTS ONLY to the Shelton Transfer Station at 866 River Road from Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

City crews will only be picking up storm debris generated within the city right of way.
