Free Laundry Service Available To Oxford Residents, Frontline Responders

OXFORD The following is from a press release received on Aug. 28:

WHO: Oxford, Connecticut residents and Front-Line Responders including: Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Electric Utility Workers, FEMA and essential retail workers

WHAT: Tide Loads of Hope powered by Tide Cleaners is providing free laundry and dry-cleaning services to Oxford, Connecticut residents and Front-Line Responders. Guests can drop off one bag* of clothes.

The Haynes Group, a local business owner, has donated a space to Tide Cleaners as a drop off location for Loads of Hope. The space is located 332 Center Rock Green at Quarry Walk across from the Tide Cleaners Oxford location.

*Guests can drop off one bag of clothes, equivalent to one 13-gallon garbage bag, for a limited time. Limit 1 per household.

WHY: A state of emergency was declared in Connecticut after storms brought unprecedented rainfall and flooding to the southwest part of the state. In Oxford, at least two people lost their lives, dozens were rescued and hundreds were without power.

Since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Tide Loads of Hope has been supporting communities devastated by natural disasters, helping to restore a sense of normalcy through the simple act of providing clean clothes.
