Here’s Why Pre-K Students In Ansonia Were Sent Home Friday

ANSONIA — The pre‑k classes at Ansonia Middle School were sent home early Friday as police checked out a possible bomb threat.

As of 1:30 p.m. Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said there is no danger to the school or the public.

According to police, two neighbors have an ongoing dispute.

One neighbor emailed the FBI and accused the other neighbor of threatening to blow up houses and the middle school.

However, Lynch said police have no evidence a threat was even made.

Ansonia Middle School was on remote learning, though pre‑k students and staff were in the building.

The school district opted to send the kids home out of an abundance of caution as police officers checked out the building, Lynch said. A bomb-sniffing dog was also called to the scene to make sure the building is safe.

No arrests have been made as of presstime.
