Literacy Volunteers invites potential tutors to attend an informational session to learn about how to help enrich the life of a local adult.
Free tutoring is offered to students in need of improving basic literacy or for English as a Second Language.
Tutors are asked for a commitment of two hours per week and will receive initial training and quarterly workshops.
Training begins January 2015.
Literacy Volunteers is offering two informational sessions:
- Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Derby Public Library, 30 Elizabeth St.
- Thursday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster St., Shelton.
