Derby firefighters responded quickly to douse flames on a second-story porch outside a multi-family apartment at 238 Olivia St. Wednesday.
There were no injuries.
The Derby Fire Department was sent to the corner of Cottage and Olivia at about 11:50 a.m. on a report of a fire on a porch.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the outside deck, with no extension into the apartment itself.
Winds were gusting between 30 and 40 mph Wednesday.
A family got out without incident.
The Derby Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
