SEYMOUR — There were no injuries reported after a reported explosion in a scrapyard Thursday morning.

Police, fire and EMS were sent to 11 Silvermine Road at about 7 p.m. July 18 after callers reported an explosion and fire, according to a social media post from the Seymour Fire Department.

The post did not name the location, but a witness and a reverse address search show the property as Seymour Auto Wrecking.

Multiple scrapped cars were ablaze under a canopy, according to the fire department.

The fire was determined to be an accident, according to the post, caused by sparks from the wrecking process igniting gasoline.

Firefighters were on scene until about 9:30 a.m.
