Oxford GOP Squares Off Tuesday, Sept. 13

The Oxford Republican primary is Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Voting is open to any registered Republican in Oxford.
Voting will take place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Quaker Farms School at 30 Great Oak Road.

The candidates:

George Temple is trying to get the Republican line for First Selectman. He won the nomination during a GOP caucus July 19. He is an attorney.

David Yish is challenging Temple. He is also trying to get the Republican line for First Selectman. He had the backing of the members of the Oxford Republican Town Committee. Yish is currently a member of the Board of Selectmen.

Temple’s running mate is Jeff Haney, who is trying to secure a seat on the Board of Selectmen.

Yish’s running mate is Lila Ferrillo, who is also trying to secure a seat on the Board of Selectmen.

The winners of Tuesday’s primary will face off against Joseph Calabrese, who is running for First Selectman on the Democratic line with David McKane, an incumbent trying for his sixth on the Board of Selectmen.
