On Monday (May 9) at approximately 2:50 p.m., my 19-year-old daughter was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Route 67 in Oxford, at the intersection of 67 and 42 (Chestnut Tree Hill Rd Ext)
Her car is completely totaled but she did not get hurt.
She was traveling toward Seymour on 67 when she stopped to turn left onto Route 42. She was rear-ended by a large red pick-up truck, possibly a Ford, and the driver left the scene — heading up 42 toward Beacon Falls.
A gentleman driving 67 in the other direction in a gray or blue pick-up truck stopped to ask if she was OK, then turned around to follow the red truck. But the driver was never found and the witness never came back.
I am requesting the public’s help in locating this red truck that will have front end and driver side damage, or anyone who saw anything to please call the Oxford police.
Route 67 is a very busy road so I am hoping someone can help. The picture above shows what remains of my daughter’s car, and it is not fixable.
