ANSONIA — Police on Monday released the name of a suspect accused of firing several shots during a dispute Sunday afternoon on Sixth Street.
No injuries were reported.
Melvin Burroughs, 33, is charged with first-degree criminal attempt at assault, first-degree threatening, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, and third-degree criminal mischief.

He posted a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 12.
Ansonia police responded to a report of gunfire on Sixth Street at about 4 p.m. Sunday.
“Burroughs had been in a verbal dispute with two other males when Burroughs fired multiple shots at the males,” according to a statement released by Lt. Patrick Lynch. “No one was struck by the gunshots; however, a vehicle, shed and garbage cans were struck by the gunfire.”
Police said Burroughs has a previous felony conviction on his record, which prohibits him from possessing firearms.
But police said they found an array of weapons after raiding Burroughs’ residence in connection to the investigation.
Police said they found three handguns, an AR-15 rifle, a flame-thrower, along with ammunition and gun parts.
Additional charges are expected.
Police released a photo of the flame-thrower, which appears to be The Boring Company‘s “Not A Flamethrower“ device that seemed specifically designed to generate headlines for Elon Musk, the company’s owner.
