Police Identify Man Killed In Derby Crash

Derby police identified the man killed in a Route 34 crash Tuesday morning as 36-year-old Christopher Etes of Sandy Hook.

Etes was driving a Jeep that collided with a box truck about 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Route 34 and Buckingham Road.

The preliminary investigation on on-scene evidence indicates that Etes was the at-fault operator in the accident,” Derby police said in a Facebook post Wednesday.

The driver of the truck, who has not been identified, is in stable condition.

Police said he was delivering doughnuts to local Dunkin’ Donuts franchises.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
