On Saturday, June 2, 2012, the Derby Middle School Running Club participated in the Shelton High School 5K road race.
Sweeping the Female 13 and under age group were Sara Gerckens, Rachel Fleischer, and Kiley Rodriguez.
Placing first and third in the Male 13 and under age group were Steven Stanley and Josh Vega.
Nicolette Tasi, Akshar Patel, Nicole Rizzo, Lily Wald,and Shannon Mc-Carthy also ran.
Derby teachers/coaches Jenny Ames and Michael Gozzo placed first and second in their respective age groups.
