Seymour Announces Rescheduled Halloween Festivities

Seymour will celebrate Halloween now that power is back on for most of the town. The date for Halloween is Saturday, Nov. 5, said Schools Superintendent MaryAnne Mascolo.

The other Halloween event that was disrupted by the snowstorm and blackout was Seymour Trunk Or Treat. That event has been postponed to Friday, Nov. 18, at Seymour Middle School, 211 Mountain Road.

That event will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with set-up time from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., said Richard Kearns, security director for the Seymour schools.

No cars will be allowed in or out of the parking lot until after the event.

Trunk Or Treat will be a free family event for children in grades pre-kindergarten to sixth grade.

To enter the event, bring one family car and decorate the trunk. Bring one carved jack‑o’-lantern, without a candle, and plenty of candy to hand out. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No walk-ins will be allowed.

Eagle Productions disc jockey Richie G. will provide scary music. There will be refreshments and a children’s costume parade.

There will be prizes for best decorated trunk, best costumes, and best jack-o-lanterns.
