The public hearing on the town’s budget, as proposed by the Board of Finance, is set for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Middle School, 211 Mountain Road.
The $50.69 million budget proposal inclues $29.8 million for the Board of Education.
*The school proposal represents an increase of $722,000, or about 2.48 percent.
*Seymour residents are looking at a 1 mill tax increase.
*Total spending up up 2.68 percent.
*The town side of spending is up 2.97 percent.
*A home assessed at $200,000 would see a tax bill increase of about $200 next year.
*The town-wide budget vote is set for April 26 at the Seymour Community Center, 20 Pine St.
