The Board of Finance will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2010 – 2011 budget Thursday, April 8 at the Seymour Middle School.
The combined school and town budget clocks in at $50.8 million — a 3.53 percent increase over the current budget.
If approved the mill rate would be 28.03.
A house assessed at $200,000 would pay an additional $446 next year.
The school budget totals $30.1 million.
School officials asked for a $1.6 million increase in their budget. The Finance Board allocated $970,000.
Town government spending is up 6.3 percent to $15.4 million, with another $5.1 million for debt services.
The public hearing Thursday starts at 7 p.m.
The middle school is at 211 Mountain Road.
