Seymour Budget Workshops Open To The Public

Seymour Board of Finance members will be discussing 2012 – 2013 budget requests during budget workshops all month.

The public is invited to listen to the discussions.

The Board of Finance is reviewing a proposed $15.7 million town budget request from Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miller. Click here to read more details about his proposal.

The Board of Education is asking for $31.3 million. Miller has proposed giving $30.7 million to the schools — a 3.27 percent increase over current spending.

It’s still unclear what the budget proposal impact on the town’s tax rate will be.

The budget hearings will be held at 7 p.m. on the following days at Seymour Town Hall:

  • Wednesday, March 7
  • Monday, March 12
  • Wednesday, March 14
  • Thursday, March 15
  • Monday, March 19
  • Tuesday, March 20
  • Wednesday, March 21

A public hearing on the final proposal will be held at 7 p.m. on March 29 at the Seymour Middle School.

Residents will vote on a separate day on the separate town and school budget proposals.
